COULD THERE BE MORE PIECES PLEASE!! Jan 12, 2007
By S. Walker-Wong First of all, the only reason I give the Doll Center a 3 star review is because my daughter loves it. Upon opening the box you are greeted by a jumbled mess of plastic. Not too bad, except every piece is stuck to the plastic tree mold from hell. Is there any way to break the parts off this tree without leaving the little nub that somehow manages to scratch you every time? Besides the one-gazillion parts, do you think the plastic pieces could be of a little better quality? Maybe the instructions could be a little more...user friendly, for us Dads that are plastic toy assembly challenged. Bottom line, your child will enjoy this but, parents, be ready to be frustrated.

Worth the assembly time Oct 25, 2007
By Robert J. Kepperling It took some work to put together, but worth the effort. If worried about assembly, go to the American Plastic Toys Inc. website and preview the assembly instructions.

Brace yourself! Dec 25, 2007
By R. S. Walter While it's a considerable effort, this toy is worth it. Very good value if you can handle extensive assembly. Directions are quite good, just lots of pieces. As the other reviews mention, the pieces are still attached to the plastic molds. To get a high quality assembly CUT them apart with a sharp knife. This will eliminate the sharp nubs and results in better fits.
Good compact design with lots of activities packed into one toy.

Time Consuming To Assemble....Very Nice In The End Dec 30, 2010
By GSellman First off, Made in the USA! You do not see that to often now a days.
That being said, you are going to need to set aside 1.5 - 2 hours to assemble this thing. The entire nursery is injection molded and 90 percent of the pieces are still attached to the molding webs. You have to cut each part loose and then trim to ensure that there are no sharp edges before assembling.
The instructions are clear and there is only one screw size/type, so no fishing for a pile of hardware. You'll need a Philips head screwdriver and a good sharp box knife to complete the nursery.
Take your time and wait for the final product before passing judgement. Some parts may seem bowed or bent during the build, but in the end everything comes together and the nursery as a whole is very sturdy. Sturdy enough that our 3 year old boy,at 40 lbs, climbed on top of it w/o breaking it.

Nightmare to assemble Dec 21, 2009
By K. Parkerton
"kjsmommy"
Although cute, this toy was a nightmare to assemble. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see a confusing jumble of plastic pieces all connected to each other. The first step was to separate everything, and I had to use an exacto knife to remove the plastic "nubs" left behind so they would not scratch my children. Next, I had to figure out the instructions (mostly pictures, not a lot of explanation). The pieces were all warped and did not fit together well, although once you screw them into place, it seems to work OK. It took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble....not a fun experience! The finished product is cute and I am sure my daughter will like it when she finds it under the Christmas tree.
