I recommend this toy Jan 07, 2011
By Walter Kiceleff This toy is great. I played with it all the time for a few months but one day his arm broke. An advice: play with it but take care of this cool toy! (Submitted by Alejandro, 10-years old)

Assassin's Guild Unite ! Oct 15, 2011
By Hybrid-X This is simply one beautiful figure. Altair stands a good 7' and is sturdy, i had no need for a base to stand him. The detail is phenomenal. His robe is painted different hues of white and grey to help with the shadows and show the natural flow of it, the detail in the paint make it look worn and helps it retain realism. The leather straps and detail in his armor look just like in game. He comes with minimal articulation, but since this is a collector's piece it's really OK with me. His head can by tilted forward and back, as well as left and right. His torso can be swiveled slightly to the left and right as well. His arms can also be moved, forward and back, and they can also extend outwards. I noticed a joint in his elbows as well but haven't been able to make it bend. Be careful as the figure is somewhat stiff. Push too hard and you might snap something. His legs both have articulation at the hip and knees, but due to the robe it's almost impossible to put him in any other position. His hands can be rotated too. The paint job on his face is a little less than stellar due to some dark circles they put under his eyes to add to the "shadow" his hood gives, with good lighting it's not noticeable, but upon closer inspection...he's ugly. So keep it at a distance high up somewhere. Now for the accessories. 2x hands (open hand and closed hand to hold accessories)4x throwing knifes, 1x sword, 1x dagger, 1x hidden blade. The knifes can be removed and held in their sheaths, his sword fits in his hand and can be put away, as so with his dagger which can be left on his back, or held in his interchangeable hand. The hidden blade can be extended or "hidden" and the detail on that is just perfect. Assassin's Creed fans should obviously get this guy, it's a great addition to a collection and really really captures the feel of the character of Altair.

collectors who like to play with the items then display them for the years to come Aug 09, 2011
By i dont play when reviewin :/ This item is definitly at first sight an action figure in hand, but with the great amount of detail it can prove a satisfaction for a fan of assassin's creed (even a crazy, too indeep for his own good assassin's creed fan *cough* me). Anyways, if you are looking at this just to play with, and only to play with, prepare to loose pieces, have pieces fall off, and probably end up with missing hands. As my figure came with his hand floating around the box, and one of the throwing knife holsters fell off imidiatly upon removal of the packaging. Quick fix with super glue though, and havnt had a problem since. But for the average youngster who opens this guy on christmas, i predict pieces to be gone by new years. However if you are like me and mildly play with these type of things because there cool to look at and just imagine... for.. a. bit... this guy is a pretty awesome score for its price, BUT!!! one thing bummed me out when i purchased this, i failed to ever look at packaging, and yeah, impossible to keep mint condition packaging if you'd like to play with this because you have to cut through it to get him out, which sucks if you want the packaging for future purposes. Easy choice for me though, i'm just gonna buy a second! (yes kids, its that worth it) though packaging did arrive mildly dentented on both sides, but i did purchase it with a 4 pound pellet gun Crosman 3576 Semi-Auto CO2 Powered Pellet Revolver with 6-Inch Barrel <~(AWESOME BUY) that was loose around the bigger box all my stuff came with, probably the cause of that.
PROS~ cheap (but not in quality) quick to show up, arrived 2 days earlier than was told me, as did all my items :D (thanks amazon!!) lots of cool detail interchangable hand (only right hand, althouh left hand does come off) four throwing knives (other throwing knives on figure, but smaller and non removable) all of altiars weapons (sword of altiar, shortblade, hidden blade) hidden blade is retractable! stands well on its own hands hold weapons very well for display purposes, and even when moving it around to look at
CONS~ impossible to put into any sort of attack stance, only cool taunt stances (head, wrists, shoulders and mid section move well, elbows feet and legs dont, knees move too well, they go back and forth as far as the legs the doctor broke on the dude tryin to escape in assassin's creed 1, memory 3 or 4 i believe) easy to lose pieces parts can fall off impossible to have mint condition packaging if you want to play with this little smaller than i expected (about a cm shorter than an xbox game case) bad paint job (you'll want to get in there yourself to fix some spots, alot of brown splotches, big spot right on the side of his hood for mine)
all in all, great buy for assassin's creed fans and collectors, has good display features (minus the paint job) and an ok buy for the average youngster looking for a toy, wont last long, you'll have the figure itself forever, but you'll just lose weapons and knife holsters will fall off soon enough

Best figure for its price, but BEWARE THE PAINT JOB! Jun 13, 2011
By Rynnay After reading some other reviews, I've decided that this figure is probably the best value for its price, which is about right for most NECA figurines. The mobility is fair, and it comes with plenty of accessories-- more than I can really keep up with, since I'm just a casual, not-too-serious collector. There's a sword, some throwing knives, the dagger, and the hidden blade which is perfectly functional. It's not really a figure meant to be played with, as the joints don't have a great range of movement, but I think they're meant to be more collectable anyway. As far as likeness is concerned, the costume and overall design is pretty spot on, and if you don't look SUPER close at the face, the likeness there is okay too. A lot of people are complaining about the face, however since I only have this standing on my dresser and I'm not picking it up every day to closely inspect his face, the whole figure as a whole really looks very good.
My only complaint and precaution to others is the paint job! Unfortunately with mass production such as what NECA has going with figures like this, they're trying to produce high quality in high quantities, so where it's going to fail most is the paint job. There are sloppy areas, as others have mentioned, and it will be different for every figure, I imagine.
I wouldn't be so bent out of shape about this if it weren't for the quarter-inch wide, bright red splotch of missed paint right on his butt, probably the most unfortunate paint job accident I've ever seen. That said, BUYER BEWARE. While this is a great little figure, inexpensive and perfect for casual collectors, BE WARNED that the paint job may not be perfect!! And you may get accidents like what I got. If you want a perfect figure, prepare to pay more than what NECA charges for a figure from a different manufacturer.

It's pretty awesome Feb 24, 2011
By Kitty Well worth the money. The details are exactly as i expected them for a figure, and it survived a accidental 3 foot fall without a scratch on the paint~ not too shabby. it's not like some figures where they fall apart when you open the box or the first time you touch it, you pull your hand back with paint galore sticking to your skin. Highly recommended for any Assassin's Creed fan who can appreciate the quality of action figures. (can't wait until they get a Malik figure~)
