Great Stopwatch - Simple and Easy to Work Jul 24, 2007
By Teacher Mommy I bought this stopwatch for my daughter because she loves to run. We do races at the park and the goal is always to beat your own best time. I also use it with all the kids when cleaning up the house. We try to "beat the clock" and get everything cleaned up in 15 minutes. My husband borrows if during soccer season to keep track of the quarters while he's coaching. I suppose you could even use it to keep track of a time out ( 1 minute per year old). It's durable, easy to work and easy to read! Great value for the money!.

All I Wanted Was a Stop Watch Jun 22, 2008
By Disappointed User I must have misread the description of this item. It works well as a regular stopwatch. However: it can't be turned off as far as I can tell, there is no way to replace the battery short of disassembling the whole unit, the instructions are printed in what looks like 4-pt. type and they are unclear (I think incorrect in one case), finding one's way to the correct mode for setting other features is a nightmare. It will work well for me as a stopwatch, but when the battery runs out, it will become a throwaway item.

Simple stop watch -- NOT NOT NOT Aug 19, 2011

OMG - This is the worst! We love Learning Resources products, but NOT this one! I wanted a simple stopwatch for my kids to use to time themselves at various things (schoolwork, outside time, reading time, etc) This is NOT the one. The directions included were printed in a font size of about 2. Microscopic to read. I'm a college graduate (6 year professional degree) and it was impossible for me to figure out how to set, re-set, or anything else that I had planned to use it for. We ended up going with the red Learning Resources one (which is perfect - STOP & START). The yellow one is outta here!
Doesn't really do what a teacher's stopwatch needs to do. Apr 14, 2010
By Christopher T. Dahle Coming from Learning Resources, you'd think it would have been designed for typical classroom uses...like setting a countdown timer for multiplication quizzes for example. But is isn't.
Really, it's OK as a watch, but it's kind of awkward to use. For example, if you are timing something...a student activity, and you need to check the clock time as well, you have to scroll through all of the functions before you get back to the event timer.
It's a fair product for the price, and durable enough (I've had mine for 5 years now), but it just doesn't do what I want it to do...not that I have found any alternatives mind you.
Edited on 11/20/11 to add: After 6 years, my stopwatch no longer keeps time accurately. It loses about 3 minutes per hour. Replacing the battery did not help. Still, for what this one cost, I don't mind too much. I do wish I could find a stopwatch with an easily programmed countdown timer function though. It would be useful for so many things besides timing multiplication tests...things like timing the cookies and the turkey too.
