Awesome Product Oct 24, 2009
By James Nicola

Great product, would buy again. Easy to function hard to pick this lock. I usually can open these kind of locks but this one gives you false positives and the lock does not open unless you have the combination. It is great protection and strong. (UPDATE) I have now had it for about a year. The kids lock their bikes up at school and there bike was not stolen but the bike without a lock was. It is a good lock for the money. If you want solid steel this is not the product for you. It is designed to be light and easy to use. It is a solid Medium security lock.

Great product, considering the price of course! May 09, 2010

The lock is great, considering the price. At less than $10.00 (when I bought it), it was a bargain. Of course, it's not the best lock in the world, but you will probably have to pay a much higher relative price for anything better. It's a lock and it works, that's what matters.
In the end locks can be broken, no matter how good it is, someday someone will come around and be able to breat it somehow. I wasn't about to spend any more on locks for this reason. As long as I can reduce the ease of my bike being stolen by a small margin I am fine with it.
This one is only 5' long and that's one of the reasons I like it as that makes it easier to carry when you aren't using it to lock your bike. It's also easy to use to set your combination and reset it if you need to. It's only for show though, I live in Brooklyn, out here people will steal your car while you go to the store for 2 minutes; a bike lock, no matter how expensive, is an easy job for thieves here.

You Definitely Get What You Pay For... Aug 12, 2010

I admit that I purchased this bike lock because it was so cheap. And in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. Before I even used it the first time, I already had an issue during the set up. For some reason, after I set my 4-digit pin, the first digit became disengaged and now just spins freely. What I mean is that no matter what number you have the first digit on, as long as the last three are right, then the lock will open. So I guess I have a 3-digit lock now lol. Other than that however, the construction of the lock seems to be pretty solid. The cable is not very thick but is still very strong. This lock will definitely not stop any thief motivated enough to steal your bike but it is a pretty good theft-deterrent (which is all I need for my bike rides to the gym) plus is small and light so I can just leave it attached to my bike at all times and its not in the way while I'm actually riding it. (Pretty) Good and Cheap!

Code changes randomly Aug 29, 2010
By T. Gavankar It's easy to set the code and it looks hefty enough to protect my bike (since these locks are more a deterrent than actual thief-stoppers anyway), but it had one major issue where the code randomly changed. I had set the code to what I wanted and then the next time I tried to open it it wouldn't open - turns out the code had changed where the first tumbler was one digit lower than what I had set it to. I'm not sure if this was due to faulty manufacturing or if I accidentally changed it when unlocking/locking it (which i highly doubt), but either way - that was problematic for me.

Smort Aug 07, 2011
By Smort Very difficult to set combination. Hard to turn red lock setting mechanism. Took care to set combo but lock "froze" in locked position.
