I purchased this drum for my daughter after she fell in love with it at her Music Together class. It is a great first drum with a nice sound. The colors are vibrant and I think it will last for years to come.

Our little one got this lollipop drum for her 1st birthday and immediately knew what to do with it. Three months later, it's still one of her favorite toys. It's simple and fun without being overstimulating or annoying for the parents. The drum and mallet are light and durable. The drum has survived being banged on by just about every toy and the mallet has survived being gnawed for several months. For some reason she likes chewing on it more than her teething toys and still the foam barely shows any wear. The mallet is also a lot safer for banging on walls and windows than her wooden rhythm sticks or plastic drum sticks.

I bought 2 of these as part of a percussion kit I gave to my daughter's preschool. The drum has a very nice, high sound and the kids do really like it. I'm giving only 3 stars because (and I might just be the fool here) based on the picture I expected this to be more than just a piece of plastic stretched over a rim with an open back. To me, this drum looked like it would have some sort of texture, as though it would be a drum surface made of a wrapped material, like the lollipop it based on. There is certainly nothing wrong with the drum, it was just a disappointment to see how plain it is in person.

I bought this drum based on the reviews and have no regrets! This was the favorite toy of a 2 1/2 year old boy and his 10 month old brother. Well constructed and I recommend it highly!
