Decent for the price Jan 24, 2011
By Machiavelli I was a little disappointed in the quality of the optics, but then I remembered how much I paid. Whether these are the loupes for you depends on what you want to use them for. If you need quality optics that provide sharp images, you may want to keep looking. I bought them to examine the edges of my kitchen knives when sharpening or re-profiling them, and they are adequate - but just barely adequate - for this purpose.
It's hard to describe how it is that they fall short other than to say that they don't render a very sharp image. I don't want to be unkind and compare them to the plastic magnifying glasses that came in Cracker Jack boxes decades ago. Think of it this way . . . imagine looking through an expensive, high quality loupe. Then drink two beers rapidly and look through that same loupe. The image the second time would be more akin to what you would see with these.
They're not bad for the price, but don't get the impression that you're getting the deal of the century with these.

Great magnifiers Mar 12, 2012
By GJ Anderson
"Saved by the Blood of Christ, Industrial Goth style, 80's - Fantasy - Sci/Fi Movies are the bomb."
I do not do anything in jewelry but do do some amateur geology. These are great magnifiers to assist in identifications on rocks and minerals. I also use these for examing details on my models when building them.
The only thing that was not good is the 30x loupe box was broken. The loupes are good for those needing a 10x - 30x magnification.
Great for models, geology, examining coins, and many other needs. They are small so for those with big hands, these may not be good. For those of us with average hands or small hands, these are perfect.
My kids also like these to look at bugs and do other small science exploration.

Great for Coin Collectors! Sep 23, 2008
By A. A. Avinger What a deal! I was about to buy a single jewelers loupe for $18.95 30x-21mm Triplet Jeweler's Loupe with Leather Case. I thought it was a good buy, since I had found others for much more. But I decided to check the internet before buying! I'm glad I did! I found a set of (2) 30x-21mm loupes and also (2) 20x-12mm and 10x-18mm dual lens loupes, a total of 4 loupes at Amazon.com for only &15.99.
