4Living in his master's shadow  May 24, 2008 By Denis del Callar "Gray Jedi"
Darth Malak is the primary antagonist in the original Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (Fondly called KOTOR) video game. This particular figure is a fan's favorite that was released with the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars coin collection. I understand that it's quite rare given the success and fan base of the video game.

Anway, there's not much to say about the figure. the detail is great and the articulation is above par for a Star Wars' figure, but he doesn't have the same menancing appeal as he does in the video games. There's just no respecting him - especially if you happen to own the Darth Revan figure. At best he postures and broods like a good apprentice standing behind his master.

The nicest part about him is that you can actually remove his face plate - revealing the missing jaw (Darth Revan cut it off). Is it gross? Yes it is. However, purists of the video game will love it.

As with Darth Revan, he comes with two lightsabers, one lit, one not lit, and a 30th anniversary Star Wars coin with his image on it.

4Nice detail, but limited articulation for the arms  Jan 12, 2011 By Enjolras
I know Darth Malak isn't the coolest looking Sith Lord, but this figure is still a pretty decent replica of him. I particularly like the face. I looks pained and injured. You can take the mouthguard off and see his injuries (he's missing half a jaw). Unfortunately, the elbow joints - or lack thereof - take this figure down a notch for me. Malak has "swivel" elbow joints, not the more advanced ball joints. This limits how you can pose him and also is a bit more conspicuous on the figure itself. Not too bad, but I just don't understand why Hasbro took this approach for Malak (but notably gave Revan fully articulated arms). Still, a great figure for KOTOR fans.

5the education is trivia and it is the history of Malak's lore  Jun 05, 2008 By Kid Prometheus "The Lad from Hades"
I am joking(and not) in the "educational value" title. This is educational on a moral stand point. But why is it all darths have some disfigurement? and all lightie-whities do not. Because Lucas is a B&W borderline thinking man. I like this (cheaper in price not quality) varient to the KoToR action figures(REVEN is a push'n sixty bucks mentor).
Basically Malak(sounds a lot like "Dalek" doesn't it?) comes with the same equipment, duel lightsabres, the collector's coin and good quality. Reven is also of good quality but has no facial detail(and it is a good thing) as he/she/it/other is the PC's altar-ego, not a specific person. The removal of the mouthguard(properly referred to as a gorget) is priceless to us gamers! If Hamil had worn one on his motorcycle expedition he wouldn't have crashed, but that's not a nice thing to say n real life now is it. But if you do complain about the meticulously thought out and artisicly labourous detail that artists put into this statue(prior the molding), also complain about the cider scarred Darth Vader(before the Emperor's generous and altaristicly free doctor's visit) toy(for childeren) and the oddly sadistic reveiws of it(by underthirteeners). This is mild in comparison.
