It measures up May 03, 2011

It is a ruler. It is for measuring. It is made of metal. It has a cork backing. So far it has measured things and do that quite well. I bought it for what a ruler is for, not for what it is not for. It has passed the tests that a ruler should pass.

Magnetic Sep 16, 2011
By Katie M. S. Using as a magnetic strip in my kitchen since my new frig isn't magnetic. I feel so clever do doing this - so much cheaper than buying a magnetic strip, and more character as well.

Good value Feb 21, 2012
By Vagal Views Can't go wrong with this - a metal ruler with cork backing. Inches on one side, Centimeters on the other. The cork backing raises the metal ruler off the page, allowing you to underline in ink without bleeding under the ruler.
My least favorite ruler May 13, 2012
By Not A Shopaholic Per Say This ruler will sit at the bottom of my desk drawer as a backup ruler. I really dislike it. It's flimsy and the cork backing makes it hard to use.
When most people use a ruler like this, they are using it to draw and not measure miscellaneous items. Being that it has the cork backing, it lifts the ruler up leaving room for small mistakes. Furthermore, if this is for your child - that cork will get messed up quickly... cork isn't a rough and tough material to begin with.
I cannot see why this would be good for anyone unless you are needing your ruler to float from a flood (cork floats) or you're measuring on a very slipper surface. I don't think either scenario applies to 98% of people needing a ruler.
In this case, sticking to the tried and true is absolutely the way to go. I'd even suggest a plastic $1 ruler over this one.
Its a ruler! Apr 22, 2012
By B. Spiegel Well, its technically a scale... but its steel, flexible, and I use it to help cut small things with a hobby knife.
