Good idea, but very few features Nov 03, 2009
By Omar Syed I thought about buying this Buzz, as he was cheaper than the other two in the current series. I chanced upon him at a local store and was appalled. The "buttons" on his chest aren't really buttons- they're simply sculpted on his chest to resemble his chest buttons; the same goes for his "laser"- it's merely sculpted on his arm to give the impression of working button. In actuality, the toy's legs don't even bend- they're molded straight with the knee joints sculpted on (do you see a pattern here).
The big feature of this Buzz is his "karate chop action" that Woody deftly uses in Toy Story to get away from Sid's mutant toys. In this figure, the action feature is weak at best and his arm doesn't straighten out in front of his body, but rather chops at a 45 degree angle away from his body. His head ratchets to the side when he chops, as if he's looking to see what's happening to his arm.
That's it. No talking feature, no laser (it's physically impossible to get a working laser light and karate chop feature in the same arm); his knees don't bend.
Save your money- either buy the slightly more expensive Talking Buzz Lightyear, or hunt for the Mattel versions or earlier Thinkway versions.

Beware this Buzz has no wings and does not talk or make noise Dec 04, 2010
By K. Lautt While this Buzz is good size and a great looking toy. He does not have wings and he does not make any noise or say any phrases. I am going to have to try and sell him on craigslist. He would be great for a "Buzz Super Fan" who wants more than one Buzz as his Karate chopping action is cool, but that is all he does. I got him super cheap so it would cost more to return ship him than I paid. So, I can't really complain. But, I just wish I would have known as my daughter specifically requested a talking Buzz who flys in the air so this won't work. I should have paid more attention before I bought.

Buy if you want disappointed kids Nov 28, 2010

Not much of an action figure. It chops when you push the button with your thumb. That's it. Nothing else except a stupid sliding plastic helmet. Buttons are all fake. Makes no sounds. Does not come with anything else.

JIPPED! Dec 22, 2010
By TFRO525 I was so disappointed when I opened this up for my daughter... The buttons are fake... no wings... the Karate chop action is nothing like a karate chop. She immediately said... "Watch this!!" and pressed his buttons... well, nothing happened so now she keeps saying "he's broken... he's broken.." I'm going to shop for a better version that actually makes noise, talks, and does something. I don't recommend getting this at all.

It's a Buzz Lightyear Toy, and that's about it Nov 02, 2010
By learningmom Bought this for my 5 year old because he was begging for a Buzz Lightyear. I didn't want to pay a ton for the one with all the bells and whistles. He likes it but he doesn't actually play with it much. Normally if he watches the movie, he'll grab his Woody doll (which he plays with much more and it was the same price) and his Mr. Potato head and plays with them all together. It stands up and is easily positionable. No sounds, lights, or buttons to push except for the karate chop. It's a basic action figure, holds up well.
