7 inches deep and keeps the ball inside the ball pit! Jun 27, 2009
By Mom This is the best ball pit ever. I had a inflatable one before this one and even though mine had a netting on top to keep the balls in the pit and not all over the floor. I always was worried that the inflatable part was going to get a hole in it. Then I saw this and I love it. Unlike the other foldable ball pits I have seen, and believe me I've seen them all. It has a deep floor 7 inches deep at the door and all of the sides have the netting its perfect to keep the balls from going all over. It can also be connected to other brand name tunnels and tent houses. As far as how big of a floor space you need to have for it,(the dimensions listed in the product description are wrong) it is 44 inches around(it's basically a circle even though it is six sided) so you need a circle 44 inches around for it, also it's 38 inches high. It's not to big even for my small living room. It is also so light that even with it filled with balls I can pick it up and easily move it around. I put some non toxic material glue on the seam at the bottom of the door just in case my toddler crawling on it with all her weight would pop the seam. but that was no big deal at all. I love this ball pit. If your like me and want the best one at keeping the balls in it where they belong and not all over the place, but still allows the child to really play and have fun. Don't waste your money on any other one, get the right one the first time.

Wonderful product! Mar 07, 2010
By Justin Kelly My husband and I purchased this item as a gift for my son on his 2nd birthday. He was completely thrilled with it. We set it up for all the kids to use at his birthday party and everyone loved it! There were kids from 1-8 years old playing in it and everyone was having a blast. The kids even learned to clean up the balls when they came out of the pit. I will say that we bought the one that comes with 200 balls and it was nowhere near enough balls. I went to walmart and bought 200 more, and a friend of ours brought another 100 as a gift. 500 balls is what we have in the pit now and it's perfect! My husband and I (not at the same time) can also both get in the pit and play with our son. This is probably the best gift my son has ever received. We are keeping it set up in our living room for now, as he asks for it when we take it down.

Worth it Nov 11, 2009

Purchased it for a one year old girl birthday. She loved it, as did every other age group. It's only suitable, however, for up to age two. After that, it's too small. The openings on both sides and on top is especially good for the little ones just getting into toys. Definitely buy more balls.

Keep Things In Perspective Dec 28, 2011
By Amber's two cents I was unsure about what my reaction to this ball tent would be due to all of the mixed reviews. I've only been using it for a few days and will update my review if anything changes. I'm rating it 5 stars for a few different reasons. The first is the fact that my extremely rambunctious 20 month old son has yet to knock an unnerving amount of balls out as many reviewers wrote. The second is that even though it does tip over, it's to be expected. If your kids put force on any walls of any tent, they're generally going to tip, buckle, or rip in some sort of way. The third is the price. Unless you want to pay for an extravagant "Chucky Cheese" style ball pit, this one does the trick for an extremely reasonable price. I'd say the main reason for the 5 star rating is that the 'ball pit' more than exceeded my expectations in a handful of ways. If you keep in mind that, this is a small, portable HOME 'ball pit' that's meant for young children who will of course need supervision in it, then you'll probably be at least satisfied with the product. You get what you pay for and in my opinion, this was worth every penny thus far.
The only cons I've found so far with the product is that, you will NEVER get it back into that handy little tote it comes in. It folds up flat though, so not a big deal and still easily stored. The final con is that my son now wants to live in the thing and cries when he has to get out.
*Addition*- Forgot to mention that you definitely need at least 200 balls. I used 300 and it's the perfect amount for my needs. I used the ewonderworld "phthalates free" balls. They've withstood my 6'2" father who climbed in with my son so, I have high hopes for them. They're also some of the cheaper priced in the "phthalates free" category.

Fantastic Ball Pit! Dec 01, 2011
By Liz We purchased this as a birthday gift for my 1-year-old son. We figured it could double as the entertainment at his party, and it was a huge hit! I did a lot of research before buying, and felt that this pit was far and away better than the other options, due to the following:
-It's big. It's the largest ball tent I could find, but it still doesn't take up too much floor space in our small apartment. I can get in there with the little guy just fine! At the birthday party, 4 toddlers could fit in there at once.
-Easy to set up/Take down. I didn't want to have to deal with support poles of any kind - I see them as a potential hazard and a potential pain to install! eWonderWorld has some fantastic YouTube videos of how to set up and take down the tents. Very easy to follow.
-Mesh sides. Some of the other tents have solid sides, which to my mind makes for a rather stuffy, claustrophobic experience. This way I can see the kids, they can see me, and it doesn't get sweaty and stuffy inside.
-Multiple openings. I love that the tent has two doors (either one of which could be attached to one of eWonderworld's tunnels - we have this one: Polka Dot Development Crawl Play Tunnel ). Also, the opening on top is PERFECT for dumping the balls in and out. I close the tent part way and pour the balls through the top into the hamper when playtime is over. I find that method gives you the least "ball-loss"!
-Folds up small for storage. As I said, we have a small apartment. This tent folds down into its own tote and is TINY! I just measured the folded circle at 14.5" in diameter. Considering that when open, the diameter is 48" across, I felt that this tent gave me the most bang for my buck in terms of "playspace-to-storage ratio"
As a note, we ordered the 200 "Phthalate Free" Pit Balls w/ FREE hamper: 6 Colors - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple to fill the pit. This completely covered the floor of the tent, about 2 balls deep. This was perfect for our 1-year-old and his friends, because they were still able to move around freely in the balls. For older kids, I think adding another 100 or 200 would really ratchet up the fun factor! The balls are a good size for little hands, and really are crush-proof. I liked that they were phthalate free, too, since every single kid decided to nosh on a ball or 20.
I'm definitely satisfied with the product, and am beyond impressed with eWonderWorld's customer service. And most importantly, my little guy is thrilled with his playtent!
